US Based File Hosts ~ Affiliate Program Removal

Fuck it, i just finished uploading my files to FilePost and when i woke up, affiliate program is gone! I should have known that this is gonna happen. Now i'm getting really mad >:(

In my last post, i didn't explain what really is "Affiliate Program". Affiliate program is considered applying as an "affiliate" and gives you incentives for working with them. In the case of file hosting sites, being part of the affiliate program gives you the opportunity to earn. How? They pay you as people download (PPD - pay per download) your files and gives you 25-70% commission if somebody purchases premium account thru your affiliate link or download link. Some company gives $35/1000 downlods you have and $2-$5 commissions for 1 month premium purchases (that's for one month, the longer the premium account, the higher the commission). They also have the referral program wherein when somebody registered under your referral link, you will have a certain commission on that person's earning.

So that's all my explanation about Affiliate Program. I think 80% of the members participating in this program are uploading just to earn. Who doesn't?

So what are the files that mostly attract people to download? COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS! From software, music, e-books, movies, tv series, and others. As i said earlier, 80% members are participating in the program are for earning purposes and 90% of that are uploading copyrighted materials (you do the math :P). The 10% for that are uploading personal content which is usually self-made.

Here are some news regarding some file hosting sites! [source]
  • Megaupload Down – Owner get Jailed
  • Wupload is Smart - Early Closed its Affiliate Program
  • Fileserve removed it’s affiliate page, because USA/FBI thinks that a legal part of their TOS is not enough to protect them, where users are responsible for their own content, and not filehost itself. Also, their thread disappeared from WJunction.
  • FileJungle Deleting Massive Files and still not paying its affiliates. UPDATE: Closed affiliate program
  • Uploadstation - Close Affliate Program
  • Filepost - started suspending accounts with infringing material and not yet paying members. UPDATE: Closed affiliate program
  • Uploaded.to - Banne US  IP. No longer available in US
  • Enterupload - Down? Redirects to Luxury.net
  • FilePost - Closed affiliate program
  • Uploading - Closed affiliate progran
  • 4Shared - Mass deletion of  files
  • MediaFire - Mass deletion of files and accounts
This file hosting site is forcing me to use ShareCash Hahahaha! Well shit happens, and this is a pile of shit!  SOPA is temporarily disregarded but the FBI is serious in chasing copyright infringers. The only way to download these file as of now are torrents and some non-US-based file hosting sites.

I should've know that FileServe, FileSonic, FileJungle and FilePost are sister companies. oh and include UploadStation to that! Jeeeeeez. I thought they only have redundant word (which is File) in their names. tsk. Well, easy money, easy go! :P
