R.I.P - Dolphy, Philippine King of Comedies

Rodolfo Vera Quizon, Sr., OGH (July 25, 1928 – July 10, 2012), known by his screen name Dolphy, was a Filipino comedian-actor in the Philippines. He was widely regarded as the Philippines' "King of Comedy" for his comedic talent embodied by his long roster of works on stage, radio, television and movies. (source: Wikipedia)

In 2009, he was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Because of his sickness,  his public appearances were reduced and was frequently admitted to the intensive care unit.

On June 16, 2012, he was admitted at the Makati Medical Center after complaining of shortness of breath. He was showing signs of recovery eight days later, but was hospitalized again in early July because of recurring pneumonia.

He died on July 10, 2012 at the age of 83 due to multiple organ failure, secondary to complications brought about by pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and acute renal failure.

In this post, I want to give my deepest condolences and sympathy to those people who were left by the King of Comedy - fans, friends, relatives and most especially the family.

You may be gone but your memories will stay within us, you'll never be forgotten. You gave a lot of contributions in the Philippine TV and made laughter to many people.

Rest in Peace Dolphy!
